Pandemic update

Like you, we’re monitoring the global pandemic, its devastating impacts and how it has disrupted efforts to address our shared challenges. Our team extends our deepest sympathies to members of the international community who are suffering now – and who have lost loved ones.

We can thankfully report all our team members safely returned to their home countries as international meetings ended at the beginning of March.

ENB is staying in frequent contact with meeting organizers and Secretariats as they consider new dates and innovative formats to proceed with negotiations. The need for collective action on global environmental issues hasn’t disappeared because of this pandemic. This crisis has shown how interconnected we are and the vital need for coordinated multilateral action.

As negotiations adapt to the pandemic, our team will also adapt to ensure transparency and accountability in global environmental governance. We will communicate with you as talks resume and encourage you to check the SDG Knowledge Hub calendar and news for developments.

Stay safe.
