New Doing Ecological Economics Webinar

The third ISEE Webinar on “Doing Ecological Economics” is coming January 24, 2024, at 9 a.m. CET. 

In this webinar, we will have a discussion with Cynthia Mitchell about her about her paper Max-Neef (2005) and the great transdisciplinary swindle: lack of originality or something more worrisome?  Ecological Economics 17 August 2023.

Elsevier will make the paper freely available for access for the month of January 2024. The Webinar will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 9-10 CET.

Eric Zencey Prize in Ecological Economics

The Gund Institute for Environment at the University of Vermont and the U.S. Society of Ecological Economics invite submissions for the Eric Zencey Prize in Ecological Economics, celebrating exceptional writing on our planet’s environmental limits.

The winning author will receive $5,000 USD, along with travel support for a public event at the University of Vermont in Burlington, VT. The prize, named after scholar Eric Zencey, recognizes outstanding books or long-form journalism that enhance public understanding of real-world environmental challenges using ecological economics principles.

4-year PhD studentship at the University of Leeds

The University of Leeds is inviting applications for a fully funded 4-year PhD studentship. The funding is provided by the EU Horizon Europe project Models, Assessment & Policy for Sustainability (MAPS). The research topic will focus on the investigation of inequality reduction’s role in creating more growth-independent welfare states. The project will be supervised by Professor Milena Büchs, Dr Richard Bärnthaler.
