Indonesian state-owned power utility PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) has commissioned 3,617 MW (10%) of its 35,000 MW capacity addition programme, which was set in May 2015. The capacity is divided into 119 power plants across Indonesia, mostly developed by independent power producers (IPPs). PLN expects to have another six power plants – five of which being developed by IPPs – representing 2.2 GW of capacity operational by the end of 2019. A further 117 power plants, totalling 20,120 MW (57% of the target), are still under construction; they are mainly hydropower plants, coal-fired, CCGT and geothermal power plants. 1,453 MW of power projects are in the procurement phase (4% of the total) and 734 MW are in the planning phase (2%). Finally, the remaining 60 projects totalling 9,516 MW (27% of the target) have secured purchase and sell agreements but are not yet under construction.

According to the government forecasts, domestic electricity demand is set to grow by an average of 6.4%/year between 2019 and 2028. Yet, the gradual completion of the 35,000 MW programme over the next decade would help the country to cope with this significant increase. The Ministry of Energy expects coal to cover 54.6% of the Indonesian energy mix by 2025, followed by renewables (23%), gas (22%) and fuel.

Total has started to produce biofuels at its La Mede biorefinery in southern France. The €275m refinery project was launched in 2015 and its start up has been delayed several times.

TC Energy (formerly known as TransCanada) has agreed to sell the midstream assets in the United States held by its subsidiary Columbia Midstream Group, to UGI Energy Services for US$1,275m.

Eni has started the early production phase from the Miztón oil and gas field in Area 1, in the Campeche Bay offshore Mexico.
