TOP STORY: NTPC plans 5 GW solar power project in Kutch (India) Indian power generation company NTPC plans to develop a large-scale solar power project in the Kutch region of Gujarat (western India), which would have a capacity of up to 5,000 MW. the project would require a total investment of INR200bn (US$2.8bn). NTPC is looking at three locations in the Kutch region for the project and in Rajasthan to set up another large-scale solar park. NTPC is also developing a 100 MW hydropower project and two 600 MW coal-fired power projects; the group is open to renewable power projects as well.. |
