Post-Doctorate Position for Synergies between Ecosystem Services and Agroecology

The Redesigning Agroecosystems team is an interdisciplinary group of researchers and students dedicated to designing and disseminating agroecosystems capable of sustaining food supplies, improving farmer livelihoods and restoring ecological function to Brazil’s Atlantic Forest. Agriculture is a leading cause of unsustainable degradation of global ecosystems, and is overly dependent on non-renewable resources. Both food and well-functioning ecosystems are essential to human survival. Sustainable food production will require new agricultural technologies that restore ecological function without sacrificing food production, together with the political and economic institutions required for their rapid and widespread dissemination. We seek a candidate who shares this vision and is interested in advancing research capable of addressing this societal challenge. The position is currently funded through February, 2017.
