JOB DESCRIPTION

The Water Center for Latin America and the Caribbean (www.centrodelagua.org)at Monterrey Tech (www.itesm.mx) invites outstanding scholars to submit an application for a postdoc or research professor in Hydrogeology, Groundwater Hydrology or Hydrogeochemistry. The Center is equipped with a high performance computer server, a state-of-the-art water quality laboratory, environmental bioprocesses laboratory, a network of meteorological stations, environmental isotope and nanotechnology equipment.

We are interested in experts which complement the current curricula of researchers at the Water Center. The appointment is full time. It will be required to teach two courses per semester at the undergraduate and/or graduate level, advice graduate thesis (master and PhD), develop proposals for research grants, coordinate and collaborate in research and technological development projects, publish in indexed journals, as well as participate in training programs, curricular development and university services. In addition, it is expected that the candidate participates in ongoing projects.

The appointment is located in Monterrey, Mexico.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

A PhD in the respective area of interest or a closely related discipline is required. The candidate should demonstrate a strong coursework and work experience in the mentioned areas of interest. Publications in indexed journals are mandatory. She/he must have excellent written and oral communication skills in English and at least a strong commitment to learn Spanish. She/he offers interpersonal skills that promote interaction and create an environment that fosters collegiality and teamwork.
