Australia will not use Kyoto GHG emissions credits to meet 2030 target

9 Dec 2020

Australia has abandoned its plan to use Kyoto carryover credit to achieve its remissions reduction targets. The surplus could have been counted towards Australia’s commitment to the 2015 Paris agreement. Australia’s NDC aims to reduce GHG emissions to 26-28% below 2005 levels by 2030.
