The yearly update of our EnerFuture service was a particularly important one this time: starting now, our energy projections go up to 2050 (and not 2040 anymore) for the three Enerdata scenarios. We also developped our Middle East coverage and updated all our data and indicators.

Contract – Emission scenarios for the United Kingdom

Enerdata has been selected by the UK Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) to provide them with Business As Usual (BAU) emissions scenarios and Marginal Abatement Cost Curves (MACCs) to update the Global Carbon Finance (GLOCAF) model. For this update, the focus will be set on exploring deep decarbonisation pathways of countries, in line with recent announcements of net zero emission objectives and  in view of the upcoming update of the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs). Enerdata collaborates with BEIS since 2007 to update two internal models of the ministry.
 
 

Encyclopedia Article – Biofuels: is the future in microalgae?

Biofuels can enable us to reduce our dependence on fossil fuels in the transportation sector. Current technologies are not fully mature yet, as most biofuels are made from crops and their large-scale development would compete with food production. However other types of biofuels, based on microalgae, have been developed. Can they become a preferred solution to replace hydrocarbons?
