New Mexico (US) approves location for 2.2 GW Corona wind park project

The Public Regulation Commission (PRC) of New Mexico (United States) has cleared the location control permit for Pattern Development’s 2,200 MW Corona wind park complex, located in Corona, in the Lincoln County of New Mexico. US-based independent renewable project developer Pattern Energy will now move forward with the project’s construction, which is expected to entail an estimated 950 wind turbines. Expected to be completed by the end of 2020, the wind park will deliver power to the domestic grid through 80 miles (129 km) of 345-kV transmission lines that Pattern Energy will install across three counties.

Ghana starts to export power to Burkina Faso through a new 225 kV line
